Cyanogen OS is the official retail version the CyanogenMOD is giving small steps within the Android market thanks to devices like the OnePlus One, ZUK Z1 or the mobile YU. The main difference between the two is that Cyanogen OS includes a number of unique applications that other users cannot use the open ROM.
But the absence of these applications among other users has gone down in history, because Cyanogen has announced this morning the launch of Cyanogen Apps Package (C-Apps). It is a collection with the Basic applications used by Cyanogen OS that, though they will continue come pre-installed in CM, users can download alternately.
Below is the list with applications:
- Theme Chooser with per-app theming
- Theme Store
- Cyanogen Accounts
- Dialer with clock integration
- Email powered by Boxer
As you can see they are what might be called core-apps, Basic applications as an audio player, themes selector, a gallery of images or an e-mail client that any mobile operating system would have to be pre-installed to be used from the first power.
With them, the Cyanogen team ensures that users of the free Roms may have virtually the same experience to the commercial release. If you are users of CM all you have to do is access the official website for applications and download them.
