State Route 212 in Wyoming

State Route 212, also known as WYO 212 is a state route in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The road forms a partial ring road around the capital Cheyenne and is 22 kilometers long.

WYO 212 runs along the south, east, and north sides of Cheyenne. The road begins south of the city at a junction with Interstate 25 and then continues east for 7 kilometers through the southern suburbs of Cheyenne. This part of the road is single carriageway with two to three lanes. The road then curves north and quickly joins Interstate 80. The road heads 9 kilometers north through eastern Cheyenne. This part of the route is the most urban in character. The road mainly has 2×2 lanes, partly with an extra center turn lane. In the less developed north of Cheyenne are ranch-style residential areas with WYO 212 turning west and after 6 kilometers just before I-25 at an intersection with WYO 219 ends.

History

Little is known about the history of WYO 212 around Cheyenne. The road has never been developed to a high standard because Cheyenne is a fairly small city.

Traffic intensities

With 3,000 to 5,000 vehicles per day, the northern and southern parts of WYO 212 are the quietest. The busiest point is the 2×2 section on the east side of Cheyenne, with 17,500 vehicles per day north of I-80.

State Route 213 in Wyoming

State Route 213, also known as WYO 213 is a state route in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The road forms a north-south route in the extreme southeast of the state, from Interstate 80 at Burns to US 85. WYO 213 is 21 miles long.

WYO 213 begins south of the village of Burns at a junction with Interstate 80. WYO 214 continues south to Carpenter. The village of Burns is the only place on the route, the road heads north over the prairies through flat land and eventually ends at US 85.

History

WYO 213 originally ran only between I-80 and Burns, north of which it was a county road. In 2009, WYO 213 was extended north to US 85.

State Route 215 in Wyoming

State Route 215, also known as WYO 215 is a state route in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The road forms a north-south route in the extreme southeast of the state, between Pine Bluffs and Albin. WYO 215 is 28 kilometers long.

WYO 215 begins at the final junction of Interstate 80 in Wyoming in the village of Pine Bluffs. The road heads north across the prairie, two miles parallel to the border with the state of Nebraska. There are no other villages between the start and end point, and there are no significant side roads to cross either. At the hamlet of Albin, WYO 215 ends at WYO 216.

History

WYO 215 has an interest in traffic between Pine Bluffs and Albin, but no more than that. The road continues north as a county road from Albin.

State Route 216 in Wyoming

State Route 216, also known as WYO 216 is a state route in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The road forms an east-west route through the southeastern part of the state, from US 85 to the Nebraska state border at Albin. WYO 216 is 30 kilometers long.

Travel directions

WYO 216 splits off US 85 50 kilometers northeast of the capital Cheyenne, then heads east across the flat prairies. The hamlet of Albin is the only place on the route. The road intersects two side roads, WYO 213 and WYO 215. Shortly after Albin, WYO 216 ends at the border with the state of Nebraska, then County Road 6 continues through agricultural land.

History

WYO 216 has hardly any significance for through traffic, combined with CR 6 in Nebraska, there is one hamlet on the 60-mile route, the 180-population village of Albin.
